With their ongoing commitment to improving rural roads, the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton hosted Brian Little, an engineer specializing in rural roads and a Manitoba Good Roads Instructor. In August Brian toured the RM, assessing rural roads that are a common problem, followed by education and discussion on general road maintenance.
As Brian prepares for the MBGRA Gravel Roads Course this year, he reached out to the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton for help:
“I've been thinking about the amazing job the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton has done in terms of strategically upgrading their road network and how that plan has been communicated to the public.
I would like to share with other Municipalities the "Rural Roads Awareness" presentation and the two Municipal maps showing the Road Priority and the Work Completed 2018-2023.
These two examples clearly demonstrate the need for a long-term strategy and how it needs to be communicated. It seems simple but a lot of Municipalities continue to struggle with the concept of planned asset management.”
Thank you to our dedicated construction team!
