Landfill
The Boissevain-Morton Landfill is located 3 miles north of Boissevain at SE 11-4-20 W. The Municipality’s landfill has been in operation since 2010 and consists of 30 acres including two burning pits, a compost pit, two household garbage cells, a used tires section, a metal section, used oil and filter section, and more. The landfill serves the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton and the surrounding area.
Open Hours
The landfill is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Summer hours (from early May to early September) also on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Evening hours will end Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
Household Hazardous Waste
Household hazardous waste materials are accepted at the designated locations at the landfill.

Cement, grain dust and mixture will only be accepted at the discretion of the landfill operator and will be charged a rate as determined by the operator and/or the administrator. |
All other special circumstances will be determined by the landfill committee or the administrator.

Residential Garbage
Residential garbage pick up is every Thursday, from your front curb.
- All garbage must be bagged and tied or it will not be picked up.
- Maximum three bags per household.
- To ensure efficient service, please have household garbage set out at the curb by 8:00 am on Thursdays.
Recycling
Please recycle as much as possible.
BOISSEVAIN-MORTON RECYCLING CENTRE: 220 Brian Street (north side of Boissevain)
– provides a convenient indoor drop-off area with containers to sort recyclables into. The recycling plant is open Wednesdays and Saturday mornings.
Recycling bins are also available at these locations:
- Boissevain Arena parking lot (Rae Street)
- parking lot west of Hazlewood Drugs (South Railway Street)
- Fire Hall/Town Shop (Mountain Street)
In town pickup service is available from T & S Recycling for a small fee. Contact Scott & Tina Patterson at 204-534-2281.

- Cardboard and all boxes – cereal, cracker, etc (remove plastic, wax paper, etc)

- Plastic milk jugs (rinsed)
- Plastic drink containers (emptied)
- Plastic ice cream pails #2 (check for stamp)
- Paper milk cartons
- Paper (magazines, phone books, catalogues, newsprint, flyers)
Compost Centre
Located at the back of the RM lot, beside the recycling centre on Brian Street.
- Composting is for leaves and grass clippings only: no branches, kitchen waste or other garbage.
- If gates are locked, please take bags to designated compost section at landfill.
- Follow all posted instructions carefully.
- Please empty compost material out of bags and deposit bags in blue bin.
